Our aim is to help the young people in our community grow, thrive, and develop important life skills while ensuring overall well-being. Here’s how we plan to do that:

Promoting Emotional Wellbeing and Resilience

We understand the challenges that young people face today. To support their emotional wellbeing and build resilience, we offer a variety of recreational services and activities. These include:

  • Youth clubs where young people can socialise, build friendships, and enjoy structured activities.
  • School holiday activity programmes designed to engage and entertain, while promoting positive mental health.
  • Skill development opportunities through initiatives such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Youth Achievement Award.

We also offer one-to-one mentoring support. This allows us to provide tailored, bespoke sessions to meet individual needs, supporting their physical, emotional, and mental health.

Working in Partnership

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with a range of youth, community, and health organisations, both locally and nationally. These partnerships include:

  • Statutory agencies such as schools, health services, and local councils.
  • Voluntary organisations that complement our goals and help us deliver enhanced services.

Together, we ensure young people have access to a wide network of support that is coordinated and effective.

Putting Young People and the Community First

We believe that the voices of young people and the local community should guide our work. Our two most important partners are:

  1. The young people we serve – Their needs, ideas, and feedback shape our programmes.
  2. The local community – We listen carefully to what the community needs and respond by providing services that matter most.

Supporting Healthy Relationships and Wellbeing

We provide guidance and support around emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sexual health. Our services include:

  • Training sessions and workshops to help young people understand and navigate relationships safely.
  • Education on keeping safe, both online and in everyday life.
  • Access to additional help and specialised support when young people face significant risks or challenges.

Encouraging Youth Participation

We actively encourage young people to take part in the running of the centre. By volunteering and helping out, they gain hands-on experience, build confidence, and feel a sense of ownership over the services we provide. Opportunities for involvement include:

  • Assisting with events and activities.
  • Helping in day-to-day operations at the centre.
  • Contributing their ideas to improve our services.

Our mission is to inspire young people, provide them with a safe place to grow, and empower them to take control of their future. With the right support, guidance, and opportunities, we believe every young person can reach their full potential.
