We understand that many young people face challenges that can affect their emotional wellbeing, confidence, and future opportunities. To help them navigate these challenges, we offer confidential one-to-one mentoring with a trained member of staff.

What is Mentoring?

Mentoring is a supportive relationship between a young person and a trusted adult who provides guidance, listens without judgment, and offers advice when needed. The mentoring process is tailored to the young person’s individual needs, focusing on their goals and helping them to overcome obstacles in a safe and confidential setting.

How Mentoring Benefits Young People:

  • Personalised Support: One-to-one sessions ensure that young people receive attention and guidance specific to their situation.
  • Building Confidence: By addressing personal challenges, mentoring can help young people gain self-assurance and develop a more positive outlook on life.
  • Emotional Support: Having a trusted mentor provides a safe space for young people to share their thoughts and feelings.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Mentors help young people think through their challenges and develop strategies for handling difficult situations.

Advocacy for Young People:

We also act as advocates for young people when needed. This may involve working with schools, family members, or external organisations to ensure that the young person’s voice is heard and their best interests are protected. Our goal is to empower young people to take an active role in resolving issues while knowing they have our full support.

If you or a young person you know could benefit from our mentoring and advocacy services, please contact us for more information on how to get started.

Encouraging Youth Participation

We actively encourage young people to take part in the running of the centre. By volunteering and helping out, they gain hands-on experience, build confidence, and feel a sense of ownership over the services we provide. Opportunities for involvement include:

  • Assisting with events and activities.
  • Helping in day-to-day operations at the centre.
  • Contributing their ideas to improve our services.

Our mission is to inspire young people, provide them with a safe place to grow, and empower them to take control of their future. With the right support, guidance, and opportunities, we believe every young person can reach their full potential.
